I am a brother of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Inc- Sigma Beta Chapter at Texas State. The Sigma Beta Chapter at Texas State has a long rich history that began in tragedy. Two of our founding brothers, Armando Mandog Pena and Guillermo El Lobo Wolf, were killed tragically in a car accident on February, 8th 1998. Because of the sacrifice made by these individual brothers, I felt it only right to give up a part of my earnings in their honor. As of 2009 Brothers of The South District of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Inc. will now have the opportunity to apply for the Mando and Memo Scholarship. The scholarship will start at $100 in 2009 and will increase $25 every year until it reaches $300. At that point I will start a second scholarship for high school students. Details for the second scholarship will come at a later date. This scholarship will have a deadline of February 8th every year that the scholarship is active.

The requirements are as Follows:

• Be an active dues paying member of an undergraduate chapter/colony in the South District of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Inc. at the time of submittle of the application and at the time of awarding of the scholarship.

• Have above a 2.75 cumulative GPA

• Not have received this scholarship before

• An unofficial transcript

• Write a one page double spaced, size 12 font in Times New Roman, 1” margin explaining:

“In what ways do you give back to Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Inc.?
Aside from service through the Fraternity, how do you contribute to your community?”

The deadline to submit this scholarship will be February 8th of every year. Brothers will need to submit all documents to the following email address by 11:59pm on the deadline date, royalwconcepts@gmail.com. The winner of the scholarship will be notified by March 1st of every year.
